DearFrank-theWarYears.com (DearFrank.com) is dedicated to Orrin S. Allen, Frances Wade Allen, and all of their descendants.

This site  is a brief introduction to the book "Dear Frank the War Years" written and copyrighted by my uncle William L. Rockwell. The book is a compilation of hundreds of letters written by Orrin S. Allen to Frances (Frank) Wade Allen during Orrin's enlistment in the American Civil War. These letters majestically capture and reflect the love between Orrin and Frances, 19th century lifestyles, the Civil War, politics, racism, and much more.

It is our hope that this book and site  will bring great joy and pride to our family, our friends, and to the students of history.

Frances E. Wade Allen Frances married Orrin in Harmony, New York and married in 1857.
